Something Out of Nothing

I often say I am a natural born leader.

I have dreamed vast dreams since I was a child. Growing up, one of my sisters and I would always create places of safety like a tutoring center we started in our garage or the Teddy Bears club we built from scratch and grew to a dozen members. That strategic thinking, insight and vision has only grown over the years.

Being the oldest of five girls, earning my Master of Business Administration and my training as a commissioned officer in the Air Force helped refine the innate skill. Presently, I dream so much that I have to turn some of my dreams over to others. For example, I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, so I opened a hair salon and gave other people who are passionate about the beauty industry the opportunity to lead that endeavor.

Recently, I learned that Amazon, Facebook, Google and several other brands with household names started from a garage. Ironically, I too, converted an old garage at the back of my rental property into usable space.

That space has given me the opportunity to make an impact on the community while also earning a profit.
